Feature release: Attribute lists and UX improvements

May 25th, 2013 by Julian Corlet

The latest code release is now live, including the following enhancements:

Attribute lists

Sometimes more control is needed over the values in a report than a text field provides. For instance, you may want the name of a project to be represented consistently across projects. Or, the 'traffic light' status of that project might always be red, amber or green. Attribute lists allow you to pre-define the set of vaules for a field. These values are then selectable from a drop-down list in the report.

User experience improvements

  • Dashboard: The 'home' page for a user now lists the most recent of their own submissions and their team members for each report type on the account. The dashboard is the new home for anything that might be needed at a glance, so if there's something you would like to see there, let us know.
  • First run experience: The experience for first time users of Reportify just got dramatically better with the addition of a 'getting started' resource. This is a guide of the key features of the product and some tips on how to get the most out of it.
  • Report submission workflow: The workflow for previewing and submitting a report has been a personal bugbear of mine for some time and it has finally had a makeover. With the improvements to the workflow, the right options are available to the submitter at the right time and the user is presented with helpful information on the status of their submission.

As always, if you have some thoughts you'd like to share, we'd love to hear them. You can get in contact at info@reportify.com.au.
